Hire a Traditional Nanny

How does a live-out nanny differs from a live-in nanny?

Both live-in and live-out nannies share the same duties and responsibilities. There are however significant differences in terms of:

Accommodation: A live-in nanny lives with the family and typically has a separate room, and either a private or shared bathroom. The live in nanny will have access to the common areas such as the kitchen and living room. In some cases the family may provide a nearby flat, for added privacy and convenience.

Compensation: Live in nannies usually receive a compensation package that include free room and board. This may reduce their overall salary depending on location.

Flexibility: a live in nanny can be more flexible with their schedule, while a live out nanny may be more restricted by their commuting schedule.

Why Hire a Live-In Nanny?

Balancing work and family can feel like an endless cycle of deadlines and tasks. For many families, this busy schedule leaves little time for personal care and relaxation.

Live in nannies are generally able to accommodate variable work hours with wider coverage and potentially provide additional babysitting service as needed.

We highly recommend hiring a live in nanny or a live in nanny/housekeeper for school aged children. With their help your home will be kept organised, your children cared for, picked up from school and meals will be prepared.

What's the typical schedule of a nanny ?

Live in nanny

A live in nanny will typically work 12 hours a day Monday through Friday, or 5 days a week. A live-in nanny may work a 24-hour shift, or 5-6 days shift.

Live out nanny

A live out nanny will typically work 10 to 12 hours a day Monday through Friday.

Babysitting

Nannies may be required to work extra hours for babysitting purposes, paid separately and compensated at an agreed-upon rate.

How much does a live in nanny cost?

The salary of a live-in nanny in London ranges between £450 to £600 net per week, depending on the family's needs and the nanny's level of experience. 24-hour live-in nannies usually receive higher salaries. If you are hiring a live-in nanny to work overseas, the salary range is generally higher from £700 to £1,300 net per week When deciding on compensation it's important to consider the flexible nature of a live-in nanny's schedule. To maintain a positive working relationship and ensure long-term satisfaction for you and your nanny, we recommend providing fair financial compensation or time-off for the nanny's time and additional work

What's it's like to have a live in or live out nanny full-time?

No morning or afternoon rush, meals prepped, time for self-care and even date nights, having a live-in nanny can be a game-changer for busy families. It can bring a sense of relief and peace of mind to busy households, allowing them to lead a more balanced and fulfilling life
